Neural Drift Meditation™

You don’t have to clear your mind to meditate.

Neural Drift Meditation is private 1-on-1 training for people who've tried meditation before and decided it just wasn't for them.

There's an effortless way to do this — one that doesn't ask you to force focus, wrestle your thoughts into silence, or wait for the perfect quiet moment before you start.

Built specifically for stress recovery, nervous system regulation, and resilience — not for achieving some picture-perfect calm.

Start with a quick conversation to see if NDM is a fit for where you're at right now.

Maybe meditation didn't fail you. Maybe it was just the wrong method.

If you've tried meditation before, you probably know the drill: sit down, try to focus, try to relax, try to do it "right." And at some point it stops feeling like recovery and starts feeling like homework you're bad at.

A lot of people quietly conclude they're just not cut out for it — that their mind is too busy, their life too full, or that meditation is for people wired differently than they are.

Here's the thing: a busy mind isn't failure. It's just not what most meditation methods are built to work with.

You don’t need ideal conditions to start.

No clear mind. No dead silence. No perfect mood. NDM is built to fit into an actual life — this isn't a wellness retreat.

An effortless technique, taught by an actual person.

I call NDM “the art of meditating without meditating.” It's a non-directive method — your mind drifts naturally instead of being forced into silence.

Effortless doesn't mean nothing's happening. It means you're not gritting your teeth and forcing your way through it. This meditation technique allows the mind to settle down causing the body to rest deeply. This allows the mind and body to come into balance releasing stress and fatigue.

The method itself is simple. But it's specific enough that most people get more out of real instruction than trying to figure it out alone — which is why NDM is taught through 1-on-1 sessions, not handed to you as a set of instructions and left to sort it out yourself. Most people don't need more information about meditation. They need someone to calibrate it with them until it actually sticks.

Meet John Berkley, NBC-HWC

Health & Wellness Coach | Certified TRE® Provider

I spent almost two decades in law enforcement, the last several as a lieutenant and front-line supervisor. Death calls, violent scenes, the stuff most people never have to see up close — that was just part of the job. You learn to manage the scene, do what needs to be done, and move on to the next call.

For most of my career, if you'd asked how I was doing, I'd have said "I'm good," and I mostly believed it. I could still show up, still do the job, still go home. What I didn't understand yet is that being able to function and actually recovering are two different things — and I learned that the hard way, more than once.

I tried meditation the way most people do first: focus on your breath, quiet your mind, relax. I was terrible at it. My mind was already busy enough — meditation just became one more thing I apparently wasn't doing right.

That changed when I found non-directive meditation. I trained first in Turning Within Meditation and later became a certified 1 Giant Mind Meditation teacher. Instead of forcing my mind to be quiet, I learned to let it drift — and for the first time, meditation felt like something I could keep doing, not something I had to get right.

Later, while serving as my department's Wellness Program Coordinator, I got to look closely at what helps people in high-stress work recover, not just survive. That question is what eventually became Neural Drift Meditation™: a nervous-system-first approach built on one idea. You can train your capacity to recover the same way you train any other skill — before you need it, not after you're already underwater.

The goal is to build a better way back.

You don’t need to become a person who “meditates.”

You just need a practice you can actually use. You don’t have to quiet your mind. You don’t have to become perfectly calm. And you definitely don’t have to be good at meditation before you begin learning how to do it.
